2021 Football Game Transportation Options

In light of the current situation with the covid-19 pandemic, Frisco ISD is offering the opportunity in 2021 for students to transport to marching band events in personal vehicles, as an alternative to riding the bus with the rest of the organization. Bus transportation WILL still be provided- due to the increased logistics associated with transporting by personal vehicle, we recommend the bus for students whose families are comfortable with group bus travel.

Transportation to and from varsity football games and marching band contests

Please read all of the information below carefully. If a student wishes to utilize alternative transport to marching band events, this waiver must be given to Mr. Simon BEFORE the event takes place (it is only required to be turned in once, and will apply throughout the season). Parents, please print and sign, and have your student hand in to Mr. Simon.

Considerations:

  • All band and color guard members will take part in the pre-game meal on game days, served immediately after release from the school day. Students taking alternative transport will then be picked up or depart in their vehicles following uniform inspection, at designated times each week (will be noted on the weekly schedule each week; typically between 5:00 and 5:45 pm)

  • Similarly, all students will attend a morning rehearsal at FHS prior to departure for Saturday contests. Following inspection, students transporting in personal vehicles will be released at designated times to transport to the contest site (these will also be noted in weekly schedules; typically mid- to late morning)

  • Students must stay on-site at contests and football games, for the duration that the rest of the band is present

  • All students must return to FHS following games and contests, for uniform return and equipment unload (return time will vary; typically between 10:30 and 11:00 pm for in-town football games, and as late as midnight for out-of-town games and contests)

  • We will be having all students sign up for seats on one of our buses for the season, so we are prepared in the event a student changes to riding the bus at any time.

FISD has offered the following alternatives to riding the bus:

  • For IN-TOWN games- held at The Star, Toyota Stadium, or Kuykendall Stadium (formerly Memorial Stadium), students may drive themselves, ride with another student, or ride with a parent

  • For out-of-town games not held in one of the venues listed above, and marching band contests, only parents may transport their student if they do not ride the bus (students may not drive themselves)

For any of the above options, this waiver must be given to Mr. Simon BEFORE the event takes place (it is only required to be turned in once, and will apply throughout the season). Parents, please print and sign, and have your student hand in to Mr. Simon.
