>>>Form to respond by Saturday, 9/5: Football Game Transportation Commitment<<<

*If we do not receive your response by Saturday, September 5th, we will assume your student will be riding the bus; they will not be able to change their designation until our game on October 23rd.

**If you elected alternative transportation in lieu of riding the bus, please be sure to read the Game Day Meal Service Information below.

**The election to ride buses or provide other transportation for games may be changed once within the season. Any change after the September 5th deadline must be emailed to Mr. Simon by September 27th, and will take effect beginning with our game on October 23rd. Students will not be able to change their designation before that game, nor will they be able to submit a change after September 27th.

Other specifics:

  • Students on buses will be required to wear masks

  • Seating will be 1-to-a-seat

  • Windows will remain down for the duration of the ride to circulate fresh air

  • Detailed procedures for loading and unloading will be in place to maximize safety

  • Hand sanitizing units have been installed on each bus

  • Drivers will sanitize the bus after each unload

  • Buses will be fogged with a higher concentration of disinfectant on a regular basis

2. Game Day Meal Service

We are grateful and excited for our Band Booster Meal Service Team, headed by Band Services lead Karen Zimbelman, to continue to provide our students nourishing meals on game day. We will be serving these meals in the FHS cafeteria, in a physically-distanced setting, following the release of the school day on game days (4:25 pm). Please read important info and considerations below:

  • Face-to-face students will move to the cafeteria after 4th period releases to receive and eat their meals in a physically-distance setting

  • Those students who have committed to riding the bus will remain on campus after eating their meal, and go through pre-game dressing and inspection procedures

  • Those who have elected alternative transportation will be released at 5:45 pm, following dressing and uniform inspection procedures

  • Virtual Academy Students are encouraged to come to FHS and participate with their friends during game-day meal time, in a physically-distanced setting, should they so choose!

  • Arrival time for VA students partaking in the game day meal would be 4:30 pm at FHS

  • Students electing transportation via bus would remain on campus, and pickup time after the game would be approx. 10:45 pm

  • Students electing alternative transportation will be released at 5:45 pm, following dressing and uniform inspection procedures

  • Virtual academy students may elect not to join us on campus for the game day meal, and either meet the band at the stadium, or they may still ride the bus to and from the game.

  • Students riding the bus would need to be dropped off at FHS by 5:00 pm for dressing and uniform inspection procedures; pickup time at FHS would be approx. 10:45 pm

  • Students electing alternative transportation will meet us at the stadium, and will complete uniform inspection on-site. They must be dropped off/park and check-in by 6:15 pm, and will depart or be picked up at the stadium approx. 10:15 pm.

  • We will be asking for a headcount of Virtual Academy students and our game-day meals at a later date.

3. In-Game Procedures

FISD has put together MANY procedures designed to keep our students safe at the games. This list is not exhaustive or complete, but we wanted to give you and idea of some of the plans:

  • Stadium capacities have been reduced to approx. 25%. Tickets will be available FIRST to families of game day participants, including Band and Color Guard!

  • Band and color guard members will sit distanced in the bleachers-

  • Current plan- 3 chair-back seats apart at Toyota Stadium, every other row

  • Current plan- 4 chair-back seats apart at Ford center, every other row

  • At least 6-feet apart at Memorial Stadium

  • The general audience, including band and color guard family members who are not part of our gameday volunteer team for that night, will be separated from the band members in different sections of the stadium

  • We will keep our bell masks on our instruments throughout the game

  • When not actively playing, brass and woodwind members will wear facemasks in the bleachers, and for arrival and departure

  • Percussion and Color Guard members will wear facemasks in the bleachers, and for arrival and departure
