Update for Freshmen Families

The Freshmen orientation currently on the Band Calendar for tomorrow (Thursday, Aug. 10th) has been POSTPONED- the building is not quite ready.

The re-scheduled time for Freshmen to visit FHS prior to the start of school is 5 – 7 pm on Thursday, August 17th. However, this overlaps our final summer camp rehearsal, which begins at 5:00 pm that evening. The Band has obtained permission for our Freshmen to tour the building and find their classrooms beginning at 4:00 pm next Thursday. We will have upper-classmen volunteers from the Band there to assist the new members and show them around!

As part of the festivities next Thursday, including our parent meeting at 8:00 and then our Parent Preview show of our marching production to follow, the students will also be fed dinner by the Band Boosters. Therefore, Freshmen who come to tour the school at 4:00 and then begin rehearsal at 5:00 should be “OK” as far as dinner goes, as we will be feeding them around 7:30 pm.
