Gregory Hayes, Director of Bands

Mr. Hayes has been teaching for over twenty years. He is in his fourth year as director of bands at Frisco High School. He also serves as the fine arts department chair. Under his direction, the band at Frisco High has earned consecutive University Interscholastic League sweepstakes awards. The Frisco High Wind Ensemble is a 2010 National Winner in the Mark of Excellence Wind Ensemble Project. Mr. Hayes is a graduate of the University of Kansas where he was a student of James Barnes, Robert Foster, Zuohuang Chen, and Scott Watson.  Mr. Hayes is also a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary.

 

Nancy Davis, Assistant Director of Bands

Nancy Davis is a graduate of Texas Woman’s University where she studied flute with Dr. Pamela Youngblood, was the 2007-2008 Presser Scholar and was an Honors Recital Performer.  She has attended the University of North Texas’s Conductor’s Collegium and worked with Eugene Migliaro Corporon, Jack Stamp and Allan McMurray.  Mrs. Davis has taught six years of flute studio in North Texas, and was the Director of Bands at Legacy Christian Academy and is currently enjoying her second year at Frisco High School as the Assistant Director of Bands.  Nancy Davis resides with her husband in Aubrey, Texas.

Heath Dillard, Director of Percussion

Mr. Dillard is serving in his fifth year as percussion director for the Frisco High School cluster.  His teaching responsibilities include:  drum line and percussion ensemble classes at Frisco High School, assisting with band classes and teaching sectionals at Pioneer Heritage and Hunt middle school, and teaching beginner percussion classes at Pioneer Heritage and Hunt Middle School.  Mr. Dillard also serves as the percussion arranger for the Frisco High School marching band. Under Mr. Dillard’s direction, the Frisco High School percussion program has been very successful, winning their division at the Lone Star Classic drum line contest in 2009.

Toby Leikness, Director of Guard

Toby is a designer, technician, and clinician.  He started his Color Guard career with the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps where he performed from 1993 through 1996, and from 1995 until 1997 he also performed with the Every-Body Winter Guard form Portland, OR.  After his marching career, Toby has taught many great programs around the country, including Every-Body A, Every-Body World, the Glassmen Drum and Bugle Corps, the R2 Performance Group, Americas Independent Winter Guard, Sarajevo Winter Guard, and the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps, along with many terrific high school programs. Toby is currently in his 11th year at Frisco High School.
